SHOP JAYANTI REDDY AT ENSEMBLE
One of India’s leading fashion designers in the emerging category, Hyderabad based Jayanti Reddy started her eponymous label in 2012. Having decided not to pursue her degree in Business Administration, Jayanti Reddy opted to pursue a career in fashion design instead. Without a formal education in design, Jayanti taught herself the intricacies of the craft and navigated the ins and outs of the industry at a young age. Her first Lakme Fashion Week show in 2016, Siaa, was a huge success and cemented her status as a rising star in the Indian fashion industry. Over the years a number of Bollywood celebrities have walked the ramp as showstoppers for Jayanti Reddy’s glamorous fashion shows such as Shilpa Setty, Aditi Rao Hayadri, Disha Patani to name a few. She has also dressed the likes of Sonam Kapoor, Athiya Shetty, Jacqueline Fernandes and Sonal Chauhan for various festivities, press events, and award shows.
Ensemble takes pride in being one of the first stores to recognize Jayanti Reddy’s special talent and creations. Having launched her collection at the Ensemble Kalaghoda store in 2013, Jayanti Reddy has had a long standing and thriving relationship with Ensemble. The brand now has a strong presence across all the Ensemble stores in the country. A dedicated space has been created in the Ensemble Kalaghoda and Emporio store to showcase the entirety of Jayanti Reddy’s collection together - her signature bridal lehengas, saris, kurta sets, cape and dhoti sets.
Ensemble’s merchandising team works with Jayanti Reddy and team to ensure the most exclusive and latest premium collections at the best prices, both for the online shop and our 5 stores across Mumbai and Delhi.
Jayanti Reddy’s design philosophy is simple: her creations embody the spirit of India Modern. She redefines ethnic festive and occasion wear by reviving traditional techniques, textiles, and embroideries and incorporating them in modern silhouettes and creations in colours that have now become strongly associated with her. Jayanti Reddy’s signature looks, her pop coloured banarasi lehengas with sexy zardozi embroidered cholis or her voluminous brocade anarkalis with heavily embroidered dupattas are coveted by brides and family members across the globe. Apart from these signature creations, Jayanti Reddy’s collections typically span across all categories, from traditional lehengas, straight kurta sets, anarkalis and saris to more contemporary cape dhoti sets, tunics, ponchos and dresses.
Jayanti Reddy has made a definitive name for herself amongst India’s top occasion and festive wear designers. There is something for everyone in each of Jayanti Reddy’s collections. Her lighter anarkalis, tunics and anarkalis, some in beautiful weaves and some with zardozi embroidery are great options for poojas or light wedding functions. Breaking away from purely ethnic and traditional silhouettes she is also widely known for her fusion and indo-western ensembles. Her capes and ruffled neck poncho sets can be worn for a variety of occasions. Ranging from wedding mehendis and welcome lunches to general Indian festivities such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Raksha Bandhan and Diwali, her lighter ensembles are a must have in your ethnic wear wardrobe. Jayanti Reddy’s heavier lehengas have a Mughal, regal feel and are great options for the wedding day, either for a bride or a close family member. Her raw silk lehengas are primarily in earthy and rich Indian tones such as red, magenta, mustard, purple, orange, and rani pink with gold and silver zardozi and resham hand embroidery done in traditional artworks. Weaving together India’s heritage through her textile creations, Jayanti Reddy’s limited edition brocade and banarasi line is also worn by brides for their mehendi or wedding day. She is also known for lehengas in the more subtle colours of beige and sage green with dull silver zardozi embroidery. To make the look more modern, she combines these more modern lehenga skirts with contemporary blouses and shirts with ruffles.
We love the versatility of Jayanti Reddy’s creations in terms of fabrics, embroidery techniques, and styling. The kurta sets and anarkalis are usually in chanderi, brocade, dupion silk; typically paired with dhoti or chudidar bottoms and hand embroidered dupattas. The traditional jewel tone lehengas are paired with more modern and stylish embellished maharani or sweetheart neck cholis. The lehengas are also easy to style in new and fashion forward ways by pairing them with ruffled silk shirts or blouses.
