Renowned designer Peachoo Singh started her fashion career in 1980. Singh’s vibrant career has spanned continents, decades and products. Having spent the better part of her career in Paris, Singh’s designs have an underlying Indo-French aesthetic. During the 90’s Singh co-owned an Indo-western fusion label Nitya. In 2000 Singh launched her eponymous label, Peachoo. Initially an interior and product design focused label, Singh experimented with designing furniture, and sculpture under Peachoo. In 2003, Peachoo collaborated with good friend Krejberd to launch a concept clothing label, Peachoo + Krejberg. Famed for experimental style and drapes, the brand became a member of the Chambre Syndicale and also participated in Paris Fashion Week. After her long and successful tenure in Paris, Singh moved back to India in 2015 and launched Peachoo in a new avatar for Indian audiences.
Ensemble prides itself on being one of the earliest and strongest patrons of Peachoo. Ensemble was one of the first stores to launch Peachoo upon Singh’s return to India. Today Peachoo is one of the most successful label’s at Ensemble and has a strong and dedicated presence across all our stores. When asked to share her thoughts on the relationship between Ensemble and Peachoo, Singh quoted the following - “Proud to have been with a design platform like Ensemble since the very beginning.”
Ensemble's merchandising team works closely with Peachoo and her team to ensure the most exclusive, trending and latest collections at the best prices, both for the online shop and our 5 stores across Mumbai and Delhi.

Peachoo’s design aesthetic can be best described as minimal and understated glamour. When asked to expand on her overarching design philosophy, Singh stated that it is ever evolving. However, she believes Paris to have greatly influenced her style as the city always pushes her to be more experimental and create beyond conventional design and culture boundaries. Singh’s understated creations are designed for the effortlessly stylish and sophisticated woman of today. Peachoo’s contemporary silhouettes, abstract embroideries, and blend of Indian and Parisian sensibilities have been a hit with domestic audiences. Some of her signature styles include combinations of intricate beadwork on handloom cotton textiles.
For her spring/summer collections Singh primarily works with handloom cotton and chanderi. Keeping in mind the change in weather and the nature of occasions, she uses richer fabrics for her fall/winter collections, such as georgette, silk, tissue and velvet. Singh is also well known for her contemporary take on sarees. Peachoo saris have a traditional fall but a modern sensibility. Her sarees are made from handloom cotton, silk, georgette and organza and are embellished with sequins, beads, and thread work. An ivory cotton peachoo saree with elegant black detailing, style with a fully embellished Peachoo crop top blouse is the perfect sartorial choice for a cocktail, engagement, reception or sangeet .
Known for her minimalist and monochrome aesthetic, Singh’s colour palette usually includes neutral tones of black, ecru, ivory, grey, and beige. Of late, the design has started to experiment with more colour. Her recent spring/summer collections have included shades of pink, yellow, blue and lime. Her latest fall/winter collection also included pieces in burgundy, bottle green, deep purple and brown.
Peachoo comprises a wide category offering of western, contemporary and Indian traditional silhouettes. The collection includes tops, pants, tunics, dresses, kurtas, scarves, dupattas, crop tops, capes, jackets and shrugs. The label is renowned for its signature embroidery and embellishment techniques. From its classic thread embroidery, to its sequins and bead embellishments, Peachoo’s embroidery motifs are both whimsical as well as glamorous. Peachoo separates are extremely versatile in style and use, the label embodies the emerging trend of reuse and mixing and matching. For example, a Peachoo embellished crop top can be styled with a Peachoo saree for any Indian traditional occasion, at the same time it can also be worn over a pair of high waisted Peachoo silk or satin pants for an intimate dinner or party. Similarly a Peachoo handloom cotton saree is an appropriate choice for a business meeting, seminar or formal lunch.
Peachoo’s elegant contemporary styles are wardrobe staples. With its relaxed fit and delicate embroidery, a Peachoo cotton tunic or kurta when styled with a Peachoo beaded dupatta is a perfect ensemble for a hot summer day around town, attending a casual lunch, running errands, a day at the office, or a morning pooja. A Peachoo flowing and embroidered dress is great for a resort or beach party, style it with a Peachoo triangular fringe scarf and a pair of gold sandals and look your boho-chic best. Peachoo separates are also great for travel, her light and summery jackets are great to layer over any simple dress or blouse. Singh’s minimal, effortless and glamorous approach to design makes Peachoo an Ensemble favorite. Shop Ensemble’s curation of Peachoo at our stores and online.
